Satu Garis Menurun is a dance film that explores inheritance as a living relationship between body, memory, and nature. Inspired by the continuous diagonal line of the Javanese Parang batik motif, the film reflects on the prayers, values, and experiences passed from one generation to the next. Set on a steep sandy shoreline, two interconnected bodies move through wind, water, and repetition, negotiating the tension between acceptance and resistance, burden and support. The landscape is not merely a setting but an active collaborator, where the force of the wind and the rhythm of the waves shape every movement. Repetitive acts of carrying, descending, and washing become rituals of contemplation, allowing the body to reflect on the past while imagining the future.
