Rice Field Without People
A house once stood alone in the middle of an open rice field, with no neighbors, no walls, only farmers passing by and buffaloes grazing at dawn. Years later, the field is gone. Houses, roads, and boarding houses have taken its place, and the buffaloes now wander smaller and smaller patches of land, looking for somewhere left to eat.
Sawah Tanpa Manusia moves between memory and disappearance, tracing what is left when land changes hands faster than a body can adjust. It asks what happens to a landscape once the people who once needed it move on, and what is left behind for the ones, human or animal, who stay.
